There’s magic in the air ahead of next week’s under-fives Pirates and Fairies Picnic Party.
On Wednesday, June 19 and Thursday 20, the castle courtyard will be full of hundreds of fearsome pirates and magical fairies taking part in the fun and games including two-year-olds Ella and Bradley Speers and Aureola Clayton, from Coles Hill, seen above with DZG mascot Jambi and birds of prey keeper Luke Millar.
There will be plenty of activities taking place across the zoological gardens including story telling, magic and puppet shows, face painting, a bouncy castle, a pirates and princess show, balloon modelling and goody bags.
Children can also meet some of our smaller animal collection and join in animal talks and feeds, before taking part in a Pirate and Fairies fancy dress parade in the castle courtyard.
DZG Marketing Manger, Julia Lockett, said: “We can’t wait to see all the colourful costumes, so make up a picnic, get those pirate patches and fairy wings ready and come and join us for lots of fun.”
Advance tickets, priced from £3.50 are still available. Tickets will also be available on the day priced £5.50 for children aged between two and five and £5.50 per adult.
