Jamie’s fun-filled day

Kidderminster schoolboy Jamie Griffin put  a DZG Little Zoo Keeper experience top of his birthday list when he spotted a promo poster during a recent visit.

And the nine-year-old, from Cookley, saw his wish come true when he joined our zoo crew and met his favourite penguins and tapirs!

Jamie’s mum Wendy Griffin said: “Jamie absolutely loved it. He loved feeding the penguins which he found very amusing and was amazed by the funny mannerisms of the tapirs.

“He was also very struck with the zoo keepers and how informative they were. But staff were also impressed with how much Jamie knew about animals and natural history too!”

She said Jamie wanted to be a zoo keeper when he was older and the experience had made him keener than ever to follow that dream.

His whole family watched Jamie in action during the memorable day including mum Wendy, dad David, sister Zoe and his cousin John.
