Toddlers entered a land of make believe at DZG when they launched this year’s Barnardo’s Big Toddle.
The youngsters from Peters Hill Primary School Nursery in Amblecote also made some feathered friends as they urged fellow under-fives to join them in the UK’s biggest charity fundraiser for toddlers, by taking part in a sponsored short walk around Dudley Castle courtyard next month.
The event, which has a nursery rhyme and fairy tale theme, will take place on Wednesday, June 12 and Thursday 13 and all participants are urged to dress as their favourite character.
DZG Head of Media and Communications, Jill Hitchman, said: “We are delighted to welcome back Barnardo’s Big Toddle to Dudley Castle courtyard.
“The event is open to nurseries, childminders, playgroups, parents, friends and families, so sign up soon and help raise funds for a very worthy cause.”
The Toddle has been held at DZG for the past 14 years and last year’s event saw more than 3,000 children from across the Midlands take part.
Peters Hill Primary School Nursery Keyworker, Christine Southall, said: “We enjoy fundraising for Barnardo’s and have taken part in the Toddle for more than 10 years.
“The charity does great work in supporting families and young children in their care. They provide opportunities and practical support aimed at turning these young lives around and creating more positive futures for them, this is why as a nursery we always take an active part in the event and we would definitely recommend other children’s groups to take part and join us.”
Entry is free for toddlers up to five and £5 for adults and children over five.
