There’s flippin’ good fun aplenty as our most popular birds celebrate Penguin Awareness Day!
More than 60 feathered friends DZG is home to the UK’s largest colony of parent-reared rare Humboldts have been busy greeting visitors to Penguin Bay, with keepers on hand to answer questions about the flightless birds. Head of Media and Communications, Jill Hitchman, said: “Penguins are always near the top of our visitors’ To See list and Penguin Bay with its glass viewing panels at poolside, plus a beach, has proved one of our most successful exhibits since its launch two years ago. “The walkthrough offers members of the public a chance to get really close to these busy little characters and our daily talks and feeds at Penguin Bay are always popular.”
