Green-fingered gardeners at DZG have got their hands on a brand new tractor to take the strain of heavy-duty tasks.
The new blue New Holland machine, which is four-wheel drive and can be converted into a forklift, will be used for muck loading and transporting materials around our hilly 40-acre site.
It replaces our old R-reg tractor which was over 20 years old and required regular maintenance.
Gardener Anthony Gwilt said: “The old tractor was getting tired and needed more and more upkeep as time went on.
“This new machine can lift up to a ton in weight and should make all our loading and delivery tasks much easier. It will also be used to transport materials and supplies for other departments at the zoo.”
