Say hello to Kirana!

The one-year-old Asiatic lioness arrived from Zoo Schwerin in Germany last night and has joined five-year-old Keshari in Lion Ridge as part of an international conservation breeding programme for the endangered species.

With only a few hundred Asiatic lions left in the wild,who are limited to the Gir Forest Wildlife Sanctuary in India – an area smaller than Greater London – it’s vital we work hard to ensure the survival of such a magnificent creature.

Please note the pathway running alongside Lion Ridge will be temporarily closed while Kirana settles in to her new home, so you may not be able to spot her just yet.
