Health & Safety Coordinator

Dudley Zoo & Castle, a leading Black Country visitor attraction, is looking to recruit a Health & Safety Coordinator who will be responsible for Health and Safety at the zoo. The role is a 4 days per week and may include some weekend and bank holiday working.

Roles & responsibilities include:

Ensure compliance with the Zoo Licensing Act
Ensure we are compliant with all relevant HSE legislation
Developing, promoting and implementing safe systems of work across the site
Compiling, maintaining and updating risk assessments and health and safety policies
Maintaining all health and safety records such as Legionella and Asbestos reports
Carrying out site audits
Chairing internal health and safety meetings and educating and supporting staff to embed safe working practises into their daily roles
Working collaboratively with managers, employees, contractors and external visitors to ensure best practise is followed
Monitoring hot work and electrical permits as required

About You

We are looking for a motivated and confident professional who can bring both technical understanding and strong people skills to the role. You will need to be a strong communicator, a logical thinker, and someone who can influence positively across all levels of the organisation

Ideally you will have

NEBOSH General Certificate
Previous experience in a similar health & safety role
Excellent communication skills
Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks

This is a part time position of 4 days per week and ideally suited to someone looking to reduce their current working hours. A flexible work pattern may be available if required.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
