Two apprentices have good reason to celebrate after achieving their ambitions to become trainee keepers.
Twenty-year-old Harley Hunt and 18-year-old Hannah Follows pictured above completed NVQ level 2 Diploma in Practical Animal Care while gaining hands-on experience across the site working with ungulates, primates and farm animals.
DZG CEO ?Peter Suddock, said: “Harley and Hannah have done well to pass their apprenticeships. “They are both keen and dedicated members of staff who have worked hard to become trainee keepers.”
He added:?”At DZG? we see training as a vital part of the business; a well-trained and adaptable workforce is an important asset and we constantly invest in a range of opportunities for all our staff.
“Alongside training we also have a mentoring scheme in place so Harley and Hannah can take advantage of a wealth of experience within our workforce on a daily basis.” The girls will now gain further experience across the sections before embarking on a Diploma course in Management of Zoo and Aquarium Animals.
