Congratulations to Ruby Joseph, aged seven, from Walsall, who suggested the winning names – an adoption pack for the delightful duo will be heading your way soon!

As well as visiting Daffy and Dilly on the farm, there’s plenty to entertain all the family during the Easter holidays including the chance the win a year-long adoption for Maisie the giant rabbit – who tips the scales at a whopping 14Ibs – by taking part in our annual Easter bunny trail around the zoo site and we’ll also be giving out free chocolate too today – so keep your eyes peeled!

Marketing Manager Andrea Hales, said: “We’ve got lots lined up throughout the holidays to make your day out at DZG really egg-cellent.

“There’s something for all ages to enjoy as well as the chance to get close to some of the world’s rarest animals while learning about our important conservation work during our daily talks and feeds.”

Elsewhere across the 40-acre site visitors can meet newly-hatched chicks as well as rabbits, chickens, ducks and pigs down on the farm while there’s Easter card crafting activities taking place in the barn and further colouring fun in the Oak Kitchen at the Queen Mary, where youngsters can design their Easter egg while mum and dad tuck into a range of Easter-themed cakes and snacks.

And remember there’s extra time to see your favourite animals as we’ve reverted to summer hours. Last entry is now 4pm and the site closes 90 minutes later.

Enjoy your Easter Sunday – don’t eat too much chocolate!
