Happy Birthday, Pumpkin!

Hallowe’en may be over, but celebrations are continuing for male capybara, Pumpkin, who celebrates his seventh birthday today. 

Pumpkin celebrated with an extra portion of fruit and veg – but the rest of his family, including mum Peanut and their offspring, couldn’t resist taking a nibble of his tasty birthday feast themselves.

Ungulates Team Leader, Jay Haywood, said: “We gave him some extra treats to celebrate his birthday but there was no way the rest of our Capybara clan were going to let him have all of it! He did truly celebrate with his whole family!”

Capybaras are the world’s largest rodent, originating from South America.
