Halloween half term fun!
This Halloween half term we’re inviting you to Skull Skool to help identify some brilliant and bizarre skulls and skeletons.
Featuring our varied collection of biofacts and artefacts, many of which have been donated to us over the years from Customs and Trading Standards for teaching purposes, join our Education Team in the Discovery Centre between 12pm – 1pm and 2pm – 3pm each day during the school holidays to help Professor Penguin solve clues and help match which bone belongs to which animal.
Get into the spooky spirit by taking part in a Vital Venoms and Practical Poisons trail around the 40-acre site, which, spearheaded by BIAZA, aims to shine a light on some of the more fascinating and overlooked species, as well as dispelling some of the myths around these feared creatures.
Learn more about the rarest and scariest animals in the world, with an extended talk programme and don’t forget to swing by the indoor Reptile House, Castle Creatures and farm barn, which all house our most creepy critters, including bats, snakes, vampire crabs, poison dart frogs and spiders.
But no visit to DZC, especially around Halloween, is complete without finding out more about the 11th century Dudley Castle, which is reportedly one of the most haunted venues in the country. Hear about people of the past who allegedly continue to roam the cobbled grounds, including the infamous Grey Lady and the drummer boy during our history and ghost talk at 2.30pm each day.
With a spooktacular saving on pre-booked half term tickets, with 500 £12 tickets available each day between October 22 – 30, subject to availability, the week promises to be frighteningly family friendly fun!
