DZG’s Laura Partridge has been handed the Employee of the Month title for her continued dedication despite having broken her arm.
The 28-year-old Customer Services Team Member from Tipton, who works with our Little Keepers for the day, in Lorikeet Lookout, in the Farm Barn, the beach and on the chairlift, won praise for working hard and coming in on days off even after breaking her arm in a fall.
Laura, who has worked at the zoo for five years as well as volunteering for an additional two, said she was excited to receive the honour along with a certificate and gift vouchers.
She said: “I like the variety of the work. Every day is different so there’s no time to get bored. It’s interesting talking to our visitors and I love going in with the tapirs when I am with youngsters taking part in the Little Keeper experiences.”
Zoo Manager Matt Lewis said: “Laura carried on working despite having broken her arm and also volunteered to help out on upper primates on her day off. She is a very pleasant and committed member of staff who goes above and beyond what is expected of her.”
Congratulations also to Senior Keeper Ed Dolphin and Customer Services Team Member Evan Rock who both received great feedback from visitors and were given notable achievement awards.
