Put your best foot forward and celebrate Get Walking Week by joining DZG’s Onesie Walk.
There’s not long to go now until Saturday, May 3, when we’ll all be stepping out in style in animal-themed onesies and taking part in the sponsored walk around the zoo’s 40-acre site to help save one of the world’s rarest big cats.
Marketing Assistant, Andrea Hales, said: “Why not mark Get Walking Week, the national campaign which runs between May 3 10, by signing up to our fun walking event.
“Not only will you be discovering the pleasures of walking and its health benefits, but you’ll also be raising money towards critically endangered Sumatran tigers in the wild, where there are now less than 400 existing.”
The fundraiser is open to all ages, with participants able to see their favourite species on-route during a 2km Onesie Waddle, 5km Onesie Wander or 10km Onesie Walk.
Proceeds will be split between DZG’s conservation projects and 21st Century Tiger, a charity that supports tigers in the wild.
Andrea added: “Staff have been practising for the walk over the last few weeks by wearing their onesies while carrying out their daily duties.
“We’re all really looking forward to it, so we hope many of you will join us and help us do all we can to ensure the survival of Sumatrans.”
