Flag lowered in Mandela tribute
DZG joined worldwide tributes to Nelson Mandela today by lowering the flag atop Dudley Castle at the heart of the zoological gardens to half staff.
CEO Peter Suddock said: “As a mark of respect to the inspirational man who touched so many lives across the world and never lost his vision for freedom and equality we will be lowering the flag of St George until after his state funeral on December 15.” South Africa’s first black president and anti-apartheid icon Nelson ‘Madiba’ Mandela died yesterday, aged 95.
