Find the food . . .

Bornean orang utans Jazz and Sprout have been treated to some of their favourite snacks, but they have to work hard to hunt out their food.

While mother and daughter are outside enjoying fresh air in their external area, primate keepers have been making up powdered baby formula and then hiding the paste it in their indoor quarters for them to discover when they come inside.

Keeper Sophie Dugmore, said: “After making up the baby powder with water we spread the food in the natural cracks of their wooden climbing frame, which they have to hunt out when they come back in.

“Once they find it Jazz will use sticks to make sure she can scrape out every last drop.”
