Stourbridge teenager, Elliot Riley, spent a week’s work placement at DZG shadowing staff across the site.
He worked with keepers on various sections, including primates and ungulates, and also spent time in our busy Press & Publicity Department.
Fifteen-year-old Elliot, a pupil at Edgecliff Schol, in Kinver, is a keen photographer and snapped up the chance to compile shots to accompany upcoming press releases.
Head of Media and Communications, Jill Hitchman, said:?”Elliot brought his camera on site and captured images to illustrate press stories.
“He did very well photographing animals can be tricky, but he knew what sort of picture we were looking for and worked with staff on each section to achieve just that.”
She added:?”He also had a great time working with the animals and all the section heads said how helpful he had been.”
Elliot said:?”I learned so much about the zoo and the various species I worked with, and I really enjoyed my time at DZG.”
CAPTIONS: Elliot photographed a group of Animal Care students from Dudley College working on an enrichment project with meerkats, showed our latest CCTV screen which relays overnight images from the giraffe house and snapped a newly-arrived giant toad.
