Electric first for DZC

We’re saying a huge ‘Thank You’ to Dudley Motor Company for their generous donation of a brand-new electric van to DZC.

van to DZC Maintenance Operative, Julian Chesson.

The car dealership, based in nearby Trindle Road, has handed over the keys to a silver Vauxhall Combo-e, the zoo’s first electric vehicle, which will primarily be used by our Maintenance department.

DZC Finance Manager, Jonathan Ashfield, said: “We’re incredibly grateful for the generous support Dudley Motor Company continues to give the zoo, as they’ve been donating vans to us since the late 1980s, which have always been a great help in our day-to-day running.

“This is our first electric vehicle as we strive to be as sustainable as possible. Not only is it better for the environment, but it is a better vehicle for us to regularly use around our 40-acre site to carry out short journeys.”
