Egyptian visitors explore DZG

Egyptian pharmacist Ahmed Sami just had to put a trip to DZG on his family’s holiday to-do list after reading rave reviews about the attraction online.

Mr Sami toured the zoo with his wife Reham Mohammed, a dentist, and their two children eight-year-old Reem and Kareem, aged five, pictured above, as part of a month-long visit to the UK from their Cairo home.

The family has already taken in the sights of London, Coventry and Birmingham and said they were determined to include Dudley after reading excellent reviews about the zoo online.

Mr Sami said: “We spent a long time planning our holiday and wanted to bring the children to a zoo. We researched where we could go on the internet and decided on DZG after reading such positive recommendations.

“And we’ve not been disappointed. The visit has been a great experience for the children who have especially loved seeing Sumatran tigress Daseep playing with a giant ball.”

Leeds, Manchester, Bristol and Wales are the next holiday hotspots for the Sami family before they head to the white cliffs of Dover and then on to explore the delights of France.

DZG Media and Communications Officer Jane Thomas said: “It was lovely to welcome the Sami family on site and to hear all about their exciting trip.

“We were thrilled to hear the zoo had come so highly recommended and gave them a copy of ZooNooz so they can learn about the latest goings on here when they have a break from their travelling.”
