Dudley News Editor, Paul Walker, made some new friends when he visited DZG for the very first time.
Paul, who has overseen the weekly paper for the last five years, was given a tour of the site by CEO Peter Suddock, as he heard about our exciting regeneration plans as part of our 75th anniversary year.
As well as meeting our newest tiger twosome, Tschuna and Daseep, Paul, who is originally from South Africa, also got up close to our black and white ruffed lemurs in Lemur Wood and received an adoption package for Sergi the meerkat – a native species of Paul’s home country.
Paul said: “I was really impressed with the enthusiasm of all the staff and keepers towards their work with endangered species and it was great to hear about the many ongoing conservation activities taking place on site.
“I was thrilled to receive an adoption for Sergi and I’m looking forward to visiting the zoo again soon, not only to visit him, but to see how the regeneration work is progressing.”
DZG CEO Peter Suddock said: “It was great to meet Paul; we have a strong working relationship and it was good to share our regeneration plans him.”
