DZG welcomes Chernobyl group
Youngsters from Belarus discovered DZG thanks to a helping hand from a children’s charity.
Host families from Wolverhampton and Kinver Link of Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline, treated the youngsters to a day at DZG where they met their favourite species, joined our creature features, and tuned in to the talks and feeds.
Lynn Bevan, one of the organisers of the annual event, said: “We had a wonderful day and the children really enjoyed their first visit to a zoo; they also loved the chairlift!”
Head of Media and Communications, Jill Hitchman, said: “We look forward to the Lifeline visit and are always pleased to introduce youngsters to their first exotic species. For them the whole experience, complete with 11th century Dudley Castle and Tectons, is very different to their Eastern European homeland.”
