DZG visits Old Church Primary
Year Two pupils at Old Church CE Primary, in Wednesbury, met some of DZG’s small creatures as part of their studies into nocturnal animals.
Presenter Pam Midwood, travelled with Elton the chinchilla, the Discovery Centre’s stick insects, rats Binky and Smarty and barn owl, Echo.
Pam said: “I took along a variety of animals to help explain to the children about the different behaviours animals have.
“Some are nocturnal, so sleep during the day and are active at night, while others are cathemeral which means they have random intervals of activity during the day or night and some are crepuscular and are most active around dawn and dusk.”
