DZG joins BIAZA AGM

derek_grove_2_0DZG’s Senior Curator, Derek Grove, joined delegates from across the country for BIAZA’s (British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums) AGM.

The two-day conference, at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, took Designing to Engage as its theme with presentations from members about developments within BIAZA collections alongside a keynote speech from conservationist, Bill Oddie, who spoke passionately about palm oil propagation in Borneo and whaling in Iceland.

Derek said: “There were several fascinating angles, particularly about the challenges we face within our multimedia society.”

“It was also great to to visit our old Amur tiger, Tschuna in her wonderful new home. She greeted me warmly and I’m sure she remembered me from her time at DZG.”
