DZG hosts mammal meeting

Zoo curators from across the UK visited DZG for a one-day workshop.

The event, which took place in the Discovery Centre’s Rainforest Room, saw members of BIAZA’s Mammal Working Group set out strategies ahead of their three-day autumn conference which DZG will host in October.

Assistant Curator, Richard Brown, who represented DZG at the event, said: “The group, which is made up of curators and keepers from zoo collections around the country, are all chairs of BIAZA’s mammal sub committees and meet twice a year to set out strategies for the coming months.

“DZG is hosting the main Mammal Working Group meeting in October, when we will be welcoming more than 70 delegates to the zoo for three days, so it was great to show them a taster of DZG before the main event later in the year.”
