DZG is proud to have backed a local newspaper appeal to help provide 50 new wheelchairs for the borough’s hospital.
The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust Charity, alongside The Dudley, Stourbridge and Halesowen News, have launched a £30,000 campaign to purchase the wheelchairs for Russell’s Hall Hospital, which will make life a little easier for the hundreds of patients who use them each day.
And we’re delighted to have sponsored one of their new £600 lime green wheelchairs as part of The Big Push campaign, with Assistant Curator Jay Haywood and the zoo’s tiger mascot, Jambi, first in line to take the zoo’s new chair for a spin!
Zoo Director Derek Grove, said: “Dudley Zoological Gardens is proud to lend its support towards the wonderful work of Russell’s Hall Hospital, which provides fantastic care to our borough’s community.
“We had no hesitation in getting behind the appeal and we hope our wheelchair will conjure up amusing conservations when visitors discover it’s been sponsored by the Zoo and sat in by a tiger!
