Members of West Midlands Classic Car Club have clubbed together to make a generous donation to DZG.
The £300 cheque was presented to our receptionist Claire Phillpotts to thank us for hosting the club’s 30th annual show this summer. And the group is already gearing up for next year’s event.
The donation was delivered by 81-year-old show organiser Maurice Cole who has penned July 21, 2019 in the DZG diary for the next one when more than 90 classic cars will roll into Dudley Castle courtyard once more.
Maurice, who brings several cars of his own including a stunning metallic grey 1961 Daimler Dart, said: “We are grateful to the zoo for hosting our event each year.
“As a club we wanted to support the excellent conservation work the zoo does. The show at the castle is always a highlight in our club’s calendar as the setting is so special.”
Dudley Zoo’s Marketing Manager, Andrea Hales, said: “It’s great to have the classic car club booked in for another year and we are extremely grateful for their kind donation which will help support our vital conservation programmes.”
West Midlands Classic Car Club was founded in 1978 and has 120 members from across the country.
