Dotto’s December duties!

DZG’s land train, Dotto, is set to transport thousands of young visitors to see Santa in our grotto this busy festive season.

ABOVE – Dotto’s duties are in full flow… there’s 20 days left until Santa visits!

The quirky 2.5 litre diesel locomotive is looking splendid as it performs its very important Christmas duties.

Right up until Christmas Eve, thousands of visitors will take the train from the Tecton zoo entrance up to Dudley Castle to reach our popular grotto.

Zoo Manager Matt Lewis said: “Dotto is doing a great job of carrying excited families up the site’s steep hills and is as popular today as it was when it made its first trip here back in 1988.

“The red locomotive is another unique feature of DZG and takes people from the entrance to the heart of the zoo in minutes, passing some of the world’s rarest animals along the way!”

The train, which was made in Italy, undergoes regular inspections by our maintenance team and can carry up to 40 children or 30 adults for each journey.

Hop on! Let Dotto make your journey to Santa even more special!
