EYFS Sessions

For children aged 0-5 years

At Dudley Zoo our EYFS Sessions are underpinned by the characteristics of effective learning outlined in section 4.5 of the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile 2016 Handbook.


The prices below include both zoo admission and the cost of the session.


Count with the Keepers

20-30 minutes – £7.50 per child

Keepers at Dudley Zoo need some help counting. A very tactile session for younger children, where they get the opportunity to get messy with maths!


Animal Storytime

20-30 Minutes – £7.50 per child

Come and ignite the children’s interest in reading by joining us in the Farm Barn for story time at Dudley Zoo, the children can enjoy our zoo themed story featuring some of the animals they will see at the zoo, as well as meeting characters from the story!


Down on the Farm

20-30 minutes £7.50 per child

An extra special experience based at our Farmyard. Come inside our Farm Barn where our sleepy smaller animals need your children’s help to wake up, before getting to meet a few of our friendly farm animals.


Meet the Animals

20-30 Minutes – £7.50 per child

Get the chance to get up close and have a stroke of some of our friendly, fluffy animals in the Farm Barn.


Meet the Minibeasts

20-30 Minutes – £7.50 per child

Meet our friendly minibeasts! This is a very tactile session where the children are encouraged to be very hands on with the animals. They will get the opportunity to see/touch/stroke/hold the minibeasts (where appropriate).


Shapes and Colours on the Zoo

20-30 Minutes – £7.50 per child

Shapes and colours on the zoo provides children with the opportunity to practice and improve their skills in recognising and naming shapes and colours, in a fun, novel environment.


NEW Go Wild! Discovery Tour

50-60 minutes – £9.50 per child

This interactive tour includes a visit to Lorikeet Lookout where your children can feed these colourful birds. Heading up the Snail Trail your children are encouraged to look out for lions, lemurs, hunting dogs and sea lions on their way. There will also be the opportunity to meet some of the Zoo’s smaller animals in the Discovery Centre and see our meekats being fed.
