Discover Dudley

DZG is proud to be part of a stunning new video showcasing Dudley borough’s top tourist attractions and heritage sites.

Filmed through the eyes of a curious 10-year-old girl, the two-and-a-half-minute Discover Dudley video takes viewers on a captivating tour to uncover the region’s industrial past, its natural beauty, its skills and innovation and its wealth of visitor attractions.

Footage from Dudley Zoo features our vintage chairlift, Sumatran tigers, penguin pool, birds of prey display, Lemur Wood walk-through exhibit, new beach ‘Ow Bin Ya Sands’ and, of course, the glorious 11th century Dudley Castle at the heart of our 40-acre site.

The film, produced by Spark Media, was commissioned by Dudley Council in partnership with leading attractions and venues to promote Discover Dudley and everything the borough has to offer visitors from both near and far.

Dudley Zoo’s Marketing Manager, Andrea Hales, said: “Having been a visitor attraction in Dudley town centre for more than 80 years and with the iconic Dudley Castle at our heart, everyone at Dudley Zoo was delighted we featured in the film.

“The result is simply splendid and shows a diverse range of places people can visit to discover more about the area’s rich past and its exciting attractions of today.”

The video also includes shots from the Black Country Living Museum, Dudley Canal and Tunnel Trust, Dudley Museum at The Archives, Dudley Town Hall, Himley Hall & Park, intu Merry Hill, Priory Park, Red House Glass Cone, Ruskin Glass Centre and Glasshouse Heritage Centre, Stourbridge Canal and Wren’s Nest National Nature Reserve.
