Marketing Birmingham Visitor Experience Assistant, Deepti Pandya, got a taste of zoo life when she became a keeper for the day.
Deepti shadowed staff across the 40-acre site as they went about their daily duties of mucking out, feeding and caring for some of the world’s rarest animals.
Deepti said: “As an animal lover, this was a truly unforgettable day.”
During her day Deepti fed sealions, snow leopards, Sumatran tigers, chimps, penguins, sakis, lemurs and Rothschild giraffes; tickled tapirs and even stroked a meerkat who had scuttled up on to her lap!
Deepti added: “The day was made all the more memorable thanks to Dudley Zoo’s staff. They were so friendly and welcoming and showed a real passion for the animals that they look after.
“I would thoroughly recommend this experience to anybody with a keen interest in animals and conservation.”
