Our newest keeper, Deb Pittaway, has completed her first summer season at DZG!
Deb, aged 35, has joined our Upper Primates team from Twycross Zoo and has started her duties working alongside our four Bornean orangutans, Benji, Jorong, Jazz and our cheeky youngster, Sprout – just look at the face the six year-old is pulling in the photo!
Deb, from Wordsley said: “I worked with great apes in my last position and I’m mainly working with the orangutans here at the moment and then I’ll begin learning the rest of the section.
“I’m enjoying the new challenge and everyone is really friendly and I’ve already developed quite a soft spot for Benji, although Jorong is a very handsome orang too!”
Curator Richard Brown, said: “Deb settled into DZG quickly and is proving to be a great addition to our team.”
