Dan the maintenance man!

DZG has welcomed a new face on to its site maintenance team.

Father-of-three Dan Whitehead, pictured above, has just joined DZG as a maintenance specialist and said he had always wanted to work alongside animals.

The 34-year-old, from Dudley, who previously did maintenance work for a mental rehabilitation hospital in Sedgley, said: “My wife and daughter are so excited that I’m working at the zoo.

“I think the job will be extremely varied and working next to the animals should make it very interesting.”

In his first few weeks Dan has already carried out repair work to steps, doors, gates and signs as well as work in a wet room in our Castle Creatures exhibit.

He joins Malcolm Clements, Site Service Manager, and general operatives Mike Grace and Paul Share in the maintanance team.
