Catering staff in the Queen Mary Restaurant have taken inspiration from their unusual surroundings to mark National Cupcake Week and celebrate 30,000 Facebook likes!
The talented team have entered a competition run by Compass Group Ltd, which runs the DZG restaurant and concocted a range of zoo animal-themed designs to coincide with the week-long baking celebration, with visitors able to tuck into a variety of sweet treats, including giraffes, tigers, lions, penguins and monkeys.
And there’s every reason to celebrate as last night we hit the BIG 30,000 for Facebook likes a huge thanks to everyone for their support!
Restaurant Supervisor, Diane Cooper, said: “We make cupcakes every day as part of our everyday menu anyway, but when the challenge came through to design and make a cupcake display for National Cupcake Week, we wanted to do something a bit different.
“We only had to look around us to get inspiration. How many restaurants can say they are surrounded by tigers, lions and giraffes?
“We’ve certainly had fun thinking of ways to make the different animal designs and hopefully we’ll impress the visitors and Compass judges. We’re going all out to win.”
