London couple, Siobhan O’Shaughnessy and Nico Durso, had a great day meeting DZG’s animals.
The pair became Keepers for the Day after Siobhan treated Nico to the experience for Christmas.
Siobhan, aged 22, said: “We both really enjoyed our day and would definitely recommend it to anyone. It’s hard to choose a favourite part as we genuinely enjoyed every aspect of it. We were surprised with the huge variety of animals we got to interact with.”
The couple travelled from West Drayton to help DZG’s keepers feed and care for our animals, meeting ungulates, big cats, primates and birds during their action packed day.
Siobhan added: “Our highlights would have to be feeding the tiger, penguins and lemurs as well as interacting with the monkeys.
“We would also like to say a special thank you to all the zoo keepers who looked after us and helped make the day extra special. We could clearly see how much they genuinely cared about the animals and passed this enthusiasm onto us.
“The whole day from start to finish was brilliant and we would love to do it again in the future.”
