ANIMAL KEEPER – PRIMATES

Dudley Zoo & Castle, a leading Black Country visitor attraction, is looking to recruit an animal keeper on our primates section.

This role is a full time permanent position working a five day week including weekends and Bank Holidays.

Candidates should have at least two years previous experience of working in a zoo environment.

You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of animal care and welfare, assisting in all aspects of management and husbandry, whilst ensuring safety standards are adhered to.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, flexible and committed, with a good knowledge of the conservation and educational roles within zoos, and excellent communication skills to interact with visitors, which will include meet and greets and keeper experiences.

Shared accommodation may be available if required

A current driving licence will be an added advantage.

APPRENTICE – ANIMAL WELFARE

This is an opportunity to work in a friendly & professional zoo environment for a 12 month period. The successful candidate will work alongside our experienced zoo keepers and help them carry out their daily duties caring for the animals across our 42 acre site. Tasks briefly comprise of feeding, cleaning and general maintenance and care of exhibits.

The role is a full time position for a period of 12 months, and will include a level 2 Diploma in work based animal care.

Hours of work will be based on a five day working week including weekends and Bank Holidays.

Are you eligible?  

You must NOT hold a level 2 or higher qualifications in animal care However, previous experiences keeping animals or volunteering with animals would be advantageous
