Park Maintenance team member Connor Waldron has certainly made the cut since moving over from DZG’s Development Team.
Connor, pictured above, has recently completed his tractor training and used his new skills just after Easter to carry out this year’s first cut of the Castle lawns.
The 22-year-old, who has worked at DZG for three years, moved over to Park Maintenance last August.
He has since got to grips with tractors, bush cutters, hedge cutters, petrol leaf blowers and mowers.
Connor said: “It’s is great to get the opportunity to learn new skills and I’m really enjoying the job.”
DZG Head Gardener Carl Stevens said: “Connor is a very competent driver and has quickly picked up the skills needed to use all the machinery we use to maintain our grounds.
“He is very hardworking and diligent and a valued member of the team.”
DZG has a team of seven gardeners who landscape and maintain our 40-acre site – including its 2.2km of roadways and pathways – to keep it looking attractive for all our visitors.
