Congrats Kriss!

Well Done to Senior Keeper, Kriss Pearson, who has been awarded the top honour in our reinstated Employee of the Month scheme.

The bird keeper has been commended by the zoo’s management team after receiving great feedback from visitors about his knowledge and enthusiasm for our newest arrival, Zeus the Southern Cassowary.

Birds Section Leader Nicola Wright, who nominated Kriss for the title, said: “During the holidays we have received multiple comments from families specifically about Kriss, who took time out of his day to talk to them about our Southern Cassowary.

“It’s always lovely to receive feedback about members of your team, especially when we hear how they go above and beyond and made a zoo visit extra memorable for guests.”

If you’d like to hear Kriss talk about the species – the most dangerous bird in the world – don’t forget to scan the QR code at the cassowary enclosure to access our virtual animal talk.

This month, we’re also sending congratulations to two of our newest recruits, Train Drivers Brian Rudd and Victor O’Toole, who have both received notable achievement awards after also receiving excellent customer service feedback!
