Conference brings new ideas
DZG Conservation Officer, Chris Leeson, has a host of new ideas to try out after attending the BIAZA Field Conservation Conference.
Chris spent two days at Yorkshire Wildlife Park last week for the annual meeting, which this year was entitled Stepping up for Conservation!
Chris said: “There were 70 delegates from 28 other BIAZA collections at the event and we heard about conservation work being carried out across the world and in this country.
“It was a really useful conference about how we assess, plan and act for conservation matters and I came away with lots of new ideas of how we can up our efforts here at DZG and ways we can work together with other conservation groups which I’m looking forward to putting into practice.”
Have you seen our new conservation signs around the zoo site? We’ll be telling you more about them in the coming weeks!
