Visitors can find out more about the work of local nature groups during our first Community Conservation Day today.
Organised by DZG Conservation Officer, Chris Leeson, the event allows local friends groups to promote their work.
Chris said: “The groups will be setting up stands in the castle courtyard and talking to visitors about our local attractions and ways they can help.
“We hope today’s zoo visitors take the time out to visit them and find out more.”
Attending groups include Friends of Silver Jubilee Park, Cotwell End Valley, Rowley Hills and Sandnats (Sandwell Valley Naturalists).
The event follows on from the Community Conservation Forum held earlier this summer, when participants were able to meet one another, share information and discuss ways to improve local breeding sites.
