A teenager from Gloucestershire was flying high after a fantastic day as a DZG keeper, with a birds of prey flight topping her experience.
Animal loving Charlotte Murphy, aged 17, was treated to the unique day out by her dad, Dave, her grandmother and uncle for her 16th birthday, who chose DZG for the variety of animals she would get the chance to meet.
During her day, Charlotte met tapirs, giraffes, big cats, lemurs, chimps, spider monkeys and penguins, with the opportunity to have a Harris Hawk land her arm her favourite moment.
Her dad, Dave, said: “I always try and look for different and interesting things to do with the children and this one was great.
“Charlotte had a wonderful, fantastic and enjoyable day and was thrilled to get up close and personal with such a vast array of animals. The site is like a tardis it’s much bigger on the inside than you realise
“Also all the keepers are an asset to the zoo; it was such a great place to visit and we’ll definitely be back.”
