Chantelle’s birthday surprise

Chantelle Pelka had a great 24th birthday surprise, thanks to boyfriend, Todd Wright, who treated her to a DZG Keeper for the Day experience.

Todd, from Tenbury Wells, said: “The day was memorable for both of us – didn’t think we would get as close to the animals as we did, which was incredible.”

The couple visited the zoo together earlier in the year when they discovered about the keeper experiences and animal encounters we run each week on site and Todd decided a keeper day would be the perfect gift for animal mad Chantelle.

Todd added: “Every part of the day was interesting, but Chantelle’s favourite was hand feeding fish to the tiger, while mine was having lemurs sit on our shoulders in Lemur Wood, which was great.”

During their day the couple worked alongside DZG’s keepers across all sections of the zoo site, including primates, big cats, birds and ungulates.
