We’re delighted to receive a share of a £150K grant awarded to Dudley Council, which will enable us to build a Changing Places on site.
The new facility, which has been made possible following the council’s successful application to central government under the Changing Places Toilet Programme fund, will be specially designed for visitors with complex needs and disabilities.
The room, which will contain specialist changing equipment, will be installed adjacent to the current toilet block at the rear of Lorikeet Lookout on the lower zoo site, with work starting in the Autumn.
Zoo Director Derek Grove, said: “We’re delighted to receive the funding as part of the local authority’s application.
“We understand we’re a challenging site for visitors who have mobility issues and this is a facility we have wanted to provide for a number of years. We know it will be most welcomed.”
