Celebrating 10 years of flights!

It’s been ten years this week since our chairlift flew back into action, reintroducing a whole new generation of fliers to the popular attraction.

Following a Heritage Lottery grant back in 2012, we were able to re-open the passenger-carrying aerial after an absence of ten years and during the past decade it’s taken thousands more height-compatible visitors on a graceful glide up and down Castle Hill, including a bride, Father Christmas and even a celebrity or two!

Plus, it’s also provided an ideal scenario for rope rescue training for West Midlands Fire Service’s Technical Rescue Unit!

Riders must be aged seven and older and measure at least 1.2m in height to travel over our Sulawesi crested macaques and geladas.

Have you been on the chairlift for the first time over the last ten years – we’d love to see your photos and hear your memories!
