Our 2014 calendar has inspired an eye-catching outdoor gallery of images from across the months.
The Love What Your Do Do What You Love-themed calendar offers a glimpse of life behind the scenes at DZG, one of the country’s busiest zoos, and shows just why our keepers love their jobs. Images from the upcoming year’s pages line the route from the Sumatran tigers’ upper Tecton enclosure to lower viewing den and include shots of housekeeping duties, enrichment and training. Species featured include Bornean orangutans, Rothschild giraffes, Gelada baboons, Stanley cranes the national bird of South Africa and a rhinoceros iguana, alongside Brazilian tapirs and Humboldt penguins. Designed by Head of Media and Communications, Jill Hitchman, and with images by Stourbridge photographer, Phil Riley, the calendar endorses the zoo’s work within its 1,300-strong animal collection. Proceeds from sales will support DZG’s Madagascar Campaign to help lemur conservation in the wild, a project with which we have been associated for more than a decade.
