It was a family affair for four members of the Bremner family, when they became DZG keepers for the day.
Mum, Kathy and children Lauren and Dan from Swindon, Staffordshire, plus their aunt, Donna, from Sedgley, joined the experience on the same day.
Donna, pictured above with Kathy, said: “Even though it rained all day, we all had a great time and it was truly an amazing experience.”
Donna purchased the day as a gift for Kathy’s Christmas present, after she had previously enjoyed a meet and greet with our trio of Asiatic lions.
Meanwhile Kathy treated son Dan, who is also no stranger to the zoo as he took part in a promotional photo shoot for his rock band in the castle ruins earlier this year, to the same gift.
Donna added: “The best bits are really hard to choose. Kathy loved feeding the lions again and to get close to those beautiful creatures was amazing.
“Lauren loved meeting baby orang utan, Sprout and Dan’s favourite part were the monkeys, tigers and tapirs.
“I loved the lemurs. Getting the opportunity to feed and tickle them under their arms is something I’ve always wanted to do every time I’ve visited the zoo.
“My surprise animals were the tapirs, who I thought were lovely and I really enjoyed giving them a tickle too.
“To get this close to so many of these creatures was totally amazing, as well meeting all of the zoo keepers who were great. We would all recommend it.”
