Bouncing ‘roos wreck floor

Enthusiastic footwork by our two grey kangaroos prompted keepers to reach for their DIY kit.

Staff noticed the flooring in the kangaroos’ hut had become unstable due to much bouncing around by the marsupials.

Senior keeper Laura Robbins – pictured with kangaroo repairing hut floor – said: “Originally the hut was home to a group of maras, who are much lighter than the ‘roos and certainly don’t thump around.

“We’ve reinforced the flooring and strengthened the joists so it should be good for a few more years yet!”
