Big cat lover Diane Hardingham was thrilled when husband Philip gave her a DZG Keeper for the Day experience and a chance to visit his ‘home’ zoo!
And Diane, pictured right with Ungulates Section Leader Jay Haywood, just couldn’t stop talking about it after the she spent the day feeding penguins, snow leopards and tigers.
Philip, pictured feeding the snow leopards with Diane below, said: “We had the most incredible time. We’ve been on safari in Kenya and seen many of the animals before but we couldn’t get over how close we got to them at the zoo.
“The experience was a Christmas gift for Diane and she hasn’t stopped talking about it since. She was so excited about feeding the tigers and penguins and was thrilled when she actually got to do it.”
Philip, from Stafford, said the day itself was above and beyond all their expectations and it was great to return to his home’ zoo after 40 years.
“I grew up in Darlaston and, although I’ve moved to Stafford, I regard this as my home zoo. I last visited in the 1970s so it was wonderful to return and have such an absolutely fantastic time.”
