Beth joins Zoo Crew!
A budding Zoo Keeper enjoyed an access-all-areas experience at DZG, thanks to her generous grandparents.
Beth Murten, from Barnsley, was treated to a Be a Zoo Keeper day by her grandparents for her 18th birthday earlier this year. Beth, who has just completed a two-year animal management course at Barnsley College is getting ready to begin a Zoo Management university course in September, so her grandparents decided a hands-on zoo day would be the perfect present for Beth and they weren’t wrong! Beth said: “I absolutely loved my day at Dudley Zoo. I don’t think I could have enjoyed myself more.
“It is really hard to pick a favourite bit because I loved every second, but I love tigers, so meeting Daseep and Tschuna was amazing.
“I really enjoyed going in with the tapirs as well. I’ve always wondered what it was like to stroke a tapir and I got to find out!” She added: “I’d like to thank all the keepers I was with; they really help to make my day a memorable one. “I would love to have the opportunity for a return visit.” For details about Be a Zoo Keeper’ here at DZG visit https://www.dudleyzoo.org.uk/events-and-experiences-7
