Best thing ever!
An animal lover from Stafford had a memorable 50th birthday, when he became a zoo keeper for the day.
Steve Shaw was treated to the unique experience by wife, Jane, who also took part and declared it “the best thing he has ever done”.
Jane booked up the special treat after a glowing recommendation from a work colleague.
Jane said: “We both thoroughly enjoyed the day and we both agree that feeding the big cats was our favorite part.
“I particularly enjoyed the penguins and Steve the tapirs but it is very hard to chose!”
During the day the couple worked with DZG keepers and got up close and personal to some of the rarest animals in the world as the travelled from section-to-section across the 40-acre site.
Jane added: “The keepers were all so friendly and informative and we were so pleased to see that they are passionate about the welfare of the animals that they look after. It was a lovely day!”
