Best foot forward, Jack!

If you’re visiting DZC this morning, make sure you cheer on our Head of Education and Conservation, Jack Williams, who will be pounding the zoo’s pathways in aid of our Global Tiger Day celebrations.

Jack will be running 10km around the zoo’s hilly 40-acre site from 10am and he’ll be swapping his Presenter uniform for running gear complete with tiger ears and tail, so you won’t miss him!

Don’t forget we’ll also be holding a fundraiser at the tiger enclosure throughout the day, as we raise funds for Wildcats Conservation Alliance as well as awareness about the plight of the critically endangered big cat species.

Fundraising activities include a name the tiger cuddly game, a raffle to win the chance to meet our two Sumatran tigers as well as sales of tiger paw prints. Visitors will also be able to see tiger artefacts donated to us from Customs and Trading Standards, which we use in education sessions to highlight the illegal trade in animal products.
