Apprentices’ Red Noses!

Our apprentices turn ambassadors today – not only is it the end of National Apprenticeship Week, it’s also Red Nose Day, and we’re combining the campaigns to raise awareness of two very worthwhile projects that offer a future through teamwork.

Apprentice Ryan Clarke takes on Brazilian tapirs in the South American paddock.

Training is at the very heart of Dudley Zoological Gardens – we’ve had apprentices on site since the turnstiles opened to the public in 1937 and 78 years on we’re so keen to train tomorrow’s team that 10 per cent of our workforce is made up of apprentices, across all sections of the business!   And Comic Relief changes lives in many of the world’s poorest countries – lands we know well through our vital conservation work with critically endangered species.

So today our apprentices will be wearing their DZG uniforms with pride and shaking Comic Relief buckets across site – please support them.

Apprentice Leigha Tedd gets to grips with the lads in Lemur Wood!
